Catch a screening of short dance films from Sans Souci Festival of Dance Cinema, a Boulder-based film festival with dances of all kinds from around the world, created for a camera instead of a stage. This selection, co-curated with Rhythmically Speaking (Twin Cities, MN) and produced in collaboration with Boulder Jazz Dance Workshop, features films that explore jazz and American social dance ideas from forms including but not limited to jazz, tap, and hip-hop. Sans Souci encourages artists to join the ongoing conversation around ‘what constitutes jazz and American social dance,’ and the sociocultural histories of and innovations in these styles.
